Rev. Dr. M. Christopher Brown II
Senior Pastor
“And I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who hath enabled me, for that he counted me faithful, putting me into the ministry.” — I Timothy 1:12
The Rev. Dr. M. Christopher Brown II is the Senior Pastor of the New Revelation Baptist Church of Las Vegas, Nevada. He is a former member of the Victory Baptist Church (also of Las Vegas). He previously served as Interim Pastor of Second Baptist Church of Clifton (Clifton, VA), as well as Associate Minister on the pulpit staffs of the Mt. Olive Baptist Church (Champaign, IL), the Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church (Alexandria, VA), and the Pine Grove Baptist Church (Fayette, MS). He is one of God’s latter day messengers sent to preach the acceptable year of the Lord.
Pastor Brown was born in Charleston, South Carolina. He is the only son of Mrs. Jannie L. Brown (and the late Joseph Brown). He was raised in the House of God Church. He accepted salvation in August 1985 and was baptized in September of the same year. During his membership he served as a Sunday School Teacher for the Catechism Class and participated in several other church auxiliaries.
Pastor Brown’s walk with God was fueled under the loving tutelage of his grandmother, the Late Deaconess Evelyna S. Brown. It is Dr. Brown’s practice to include his grandmother’s theological insights and real-life examples into both sermons and discipleship teaching right alongside Matthew Henry, Warren Wiersbe, and Charles Spurgeon. Despite having only a formal third-grade education, his grandmother’s biblical insights are testament and testimony of Proverbs 2:6, “For the Lord giveth wisdom: out of his mouth cometh knowledge and understanding.”
Pastor Brown served faithfully as a Deacon from January of 1987 until he answered his call to preach on August 14, 1998. He was licensed to the gospel ministry on October 18, 1998 by the Friendship Baptist Church (Kansas City, MO) under the auspices of Dr. Manuel L. Dillingham; and ordained a minister of the gospel of Jesus Christ on April 1, 2001 by the Mt. Olive Baptist Church (Champaign, IL) under the auspices of Rev. Lundy Savage.
Pastor Brown received a Bachelor of Science from South Carolina State University, a Master of Science in Education from the University of Kentucky, and a Doctor of Philosophy from The Pennsylvania State University. He has also conducted advanced study at the College of Charleston, the University of Maryland, Charleston Southern University, the University of Arizona, the University of Mississippi, and the House of God Academy and Bible College (Nashville, TN).
Pastor Brown preached his initial sermon at the New Revelation Baptist Church on March 3, 2014 – “When the Lord Shuts You In”. He was unanimously elected to the position of Senior Pastor on August 16, 2015 and formally installed on November 24, 2015.
Under the dedicated leadership of Pastor Brown, the New Revelation Baptist Church of Las Vegas has been growing spiritually and numerically. The church has a new constitution and bylaws, has remodeled the sanctuary and facilities, upgraded technology, and captured the heart and commitment of the membership. In addition to covenant ministries and auxiliaries, church programming includes tutoring, food assistance, benevolence, and missions support. New Revelation, affectionately known as “God’s Church”, is an organized organism that edifies the savior, evangelizes the sinner, and equips the saints.
A sought after guest preacher, evangelist, and lecture, Pastor Brown has extended the ministry of the New Revelation Baptist Church beyond the walls of the building and outside the city limits. A workman that needs not to be made ashamed, Pastor Brown captivates the hearts and minds of listeners with the unadulterated gospel – delivered with clarity and without compromise.
Pastor Brown has lectured and/or presented scholarship in various countries on six of seven continents – Africa, Asia, Australia, Europe, North America, and South America. He is currently completing a new book, A Charge to Keep: Historically Black College and University Presidents and the Ministry of Education.
Pastor Brown is a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity, Sigma Pi Phi Fraternity, the 100 Black Men of America, Kiwanis International, Rotary International, and a 33rd degree Free and Accepted Mason Prince Hall Affiliation.
Dr. Brown is married to the former Adrienne Joyce Allen of Canton, Mississippi. Mrs. Brown is a school district administrator.
